Caldera Community Development District
The Caldera Community Development District (CDD) is a local, special purpose government entity authorized by Chapter 190 of the Florida Statutes as amended, established April 12, 2023 and created by Ordinance No. 2023-04 of the Board of County Commissioners, Hernando County, Florida as an alternative method of planning, acquiring, operating and maintaining community-wide improvements in planned communities.
The Caldera CDD is located entirely within the boundaries of the City of Lake Alfred, Polk County, Florida, comprising a parcel or parcels of land containing approximately 144.19 acres, located south of County Road 557A, west of County Road 557, and east of Old Lake Alfred Road.
The exclusive charter for the District shall be the uniform community development district charter (Uniform Charter) as set forth in Florida Statutes 190. The Uniform Charter grants certain general and special powers.

The Caldera Community Development District (CDD) is a local, special purpose government entity authorized by Chapter 190 of the Florida Statutes as amended, established April 12, 2023 and created by Ordinance No. 2023-04 of the Board of County Commissioners, Hernando County, Florida as an alternative method of planning, acquiring, operating and maintaining community-wide improvements in planned communities.
The District may exercise the general and special powers authorized by Chapter 190, Florida Statutes, with specific consent for the special powers in Sections 190.012(2)(a) and (2)(d), and which shall operate in accordance with the uniform community development district charter as set forth in Sections 190.006 through 190.041 Florida Statutes.Ordinance No. 2023-04 (PDF) (opens in a new window)
